Elon Musk retracted a tweet mentioning Donald Trump in relation to the Epstein files. This action followed a period of public disagreement between Musk and Trump, with Musk initially claiming that Trump’s involvement was the reason for the files’ non-release.
Musk had previously departed from his position as a special government employee in the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), citing his business interests.
Musk’s displeasure was reportedly related to Trump’s ‘Big Beautiful Bill.’
The deleted tweet by Musk stated: “Donald Trump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!”
Musk later hinted at a potential truce in response to a post from American Fund Manager Bill Ackman, who stated, “I support @realDonaldTrump and @elonmusk and they should make peace for the benefit of our great country. We are much stronger together than apart.” Musk replied with, “You’s are not wrong.”
The disagreement between Trump and Musk centered on the recent bill, causing critical comments and accusations to be exchanged on social media.
The feud escalated when Musk made serious allegations about Trump’s connection to Jeffrey Epstein, escalating their personal conflict. The feud between the two men got nastier, less than a week after Musk officially left his position spearheading the quasi-official Department of Government Efficiency.
US Vice President JD Vance supported Trump during the public feud.
On X, Vance stated, “President Trump has done more than any person in my lifetime to earn the trust of the movement he leads. I’m proud to stand beside him.”
