Officials: Another northern Afghan province falls to Taliban

Provincial Afghan lawmakers say the Taliban have taken management of one other provincial capital, the fourth to fall into rebel palms in lower than per week, in a punishing blow to authorities forces.
The Taliban forces overran Taleqan, the capital of the northern Takhar province on Sunday, capturing the ultimate areas it hadn’t beforehand managed after a monthslong siege, the 2 lawmakers from the province mentioned.
Takhar has explicit significance for the anti-Taliban northern alliance fighters who joined the U.S.-led coalition to oust the non secular militia in 2001.
