On Indian lady’s suicide in US, embassy expresses grief, extends help

The Indian Consulate in New York City has expressed grief over the loss of life of Mandeep Kaur, an Indian-origin who dedicated suicide and mentioned that it’s going to render every kind of help required.

A 30-year-old Sikh lady within the US has dedicated suicide after struggling years of alleged home abuse by her husband.

Mandeep Kaur allegedly dedicated suicide on August 3 after she posted a video on-line wherein she spoke about years of home abuse by her husband Ranjodhbeer Singh Sandhu.

“We are deeply saddened by the death of Mandeep Kaur in Queens, New York under most tragic circumstances. We are in touch with the US authorities at Federal and local level as well as the community. We stand ready to render all assistance,” the Indian Consulate tweeted on Saturday.

Kaur leaves behind two younger daughters aged 4 and 6 years.

In the video posted on-line, Kaur, seen crying and distressed, says she can not take the abuse anymore and likewise talks about taking her personal life.
