Severe flooding in Pakistan’s northwestern region has caused widespread devastation and loss of life. The death toll has climbed to approximately 340 within 48 hours, with 137 people injured. Relief and rescue efforts are concentrated across nine districts including Buner, Swat, Shangla, Battagram, Bajaur, and Mansehra, with around 2,000 personnel involved in the operation. On Saturday, rescue teams recovered 63 more bodies from the wreckage caused by floods and landslides. The weather bureau has issued a warning that more heavy rainfall is expected in the days ahead. A witness who survived the floods in Buner recounted the terrifying sight of massive rocks and boulders being swept away by the floodwaters. Hundreds of rescue workers are still searching for survivors in Buner. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province was the most impacted by the downpour and cloudbursts on Friday, with numerous houses destroyed by the floods.
