In a somber update, Qatar’s Interior Ministry reported six fatalities and one missing person following a helicopter crash in its territorial waters. The Sunday statement on social media came after recovery operations during a maritime search mission.

Rescuers located six of the seven individuals on the craft, all pronounced dead. Dedicated teams remain committed to finding the survivor. The ministry conveyed solidarity with the victims’ loved ones.

A prior Defense Ministry note cited technical trouble on a regular duty flight leading to the plunge into the sea, without specifying occupants.

This comes as regional warfare enters its 23rd day with ongoing barrages. GCC Secretary General Jassim Mohammad Albudaiwi slammed Iran’s claims of Gulf complicity in attacks as groundless.

He fired back, alleging Iran’s intentional hits on Gulf infrastructure and petroleum hubs. Post-war, Iran is charged with targeting Gulf civilian and energy targets, while maintaining focus on U.S. assets. Iran alleges Gulf hosts enable U.S. operations.

Bahrain’s forces boasted of intercepting 145 missiles and 246 drones since hostilities began, reflecting the intense defensive posture. The crash serves as a stark reminder of perils facing first responders in this tense arena.
