Russia says troops’ cellphone use behind strike on Ukraine’s Makiivka

By India Today Web Desk: Russia has claimed that the rationale behind the demise of as many as 89 troops in a lethal Ukrainian missile strike was the unauthorised use of cell phones by the servicemen.

“It is already obvious that the main reason for what happened was the switching on and massive use – contrary to the prohibition – by personnel of mobile phones in a reach zone of enemy weapons,” the nation’s defence ministry mentioned in a press release.

It comes as navy leaders confronted requires punishment after one of many deadliest assaults but launched by Ukraine.

Russia had earlier claimed that Ukraine fired rockets at a facility in Moscow-held areas of Donetsk, killing 89 troopers stationed there.

This was one of many deadliest assaults on the Russian forces because the warfare started greater than 10 months in the past.
