Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Sheikh, the Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, has passed away. The announcement came on Tuesday. He was 82. The funeral prayers will be held at the Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque in Riyadh following the Asr prayer. In addition to his role as Grand Mufti, he was also the head of the General Presidency for Scholarly Research and Ifta and the Supreme Council of the Muslim World League. The Royal Court acknowledged the significant loss, recognizing the impact his death has on the Kingdom and the Islamic world. Sheikh Abdulaziz served as Grand Mufti for 26 years, succeeding Abdulaziz bin Baz in 1999. The Asr prayer and the funeral will take place at the Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque in Riyadh at 3:12 PM Saudi time. King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman have conveyed their condolences to Sheikh Abdulaziz’s family, the Saudi Arabian people, and the global Islamic community.
