Saudi TV says missile or drone intercepted over Riyadh

Saudi Arabia mentioned Saturday it intercepted an obvious missile or drone assault over its capital, Riyadh, amid the dominion’s yearslong struggle towards neighbouring Yemen’s Houthi rebels.
Social media customers posted video of what gave the impression to be an explosion within the air over Riyadh. Saudi state TV quoted authorities within the kingdom acknowledging the interception.
The Houthis didn’t instantly acknowledge launching a missile or a drone towards Riyadh.
The Houthis have held Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, since September 2014. Saudi Arabia and its allies launched a struggle towards them in March 2015 in help of Yemen’s internationally recognised authorities.

The struggle has been mired in a stalemate for years. Riyadh has been focused in sporadic missile assaults in that point, whereas the Houthis even have launched missile and drone strikes.

Western consultants, Saudi Arabia and the U.S. say Iran has equipped arms, together with ballistic missiles to the Houthis. Iran denies that, although units within the weapons hyperlink again to Tehran.
