During the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit held in Tianjin, China, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was seen displaying a visible eagerness to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin. A video capturing the moment during a group photography session has gained significant attention. In the footage, after the group photo, as Putin walked with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Sharif quickly moved forward from the back of the line and extended his hand to greet the Russian leader. Putin, after initially moving ahead, subsequently turned back to shake hands with Sharif. This incident highlights Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its relationship with Russia, a trend that began with the previous government. Sharif has also engaged with Putin on multiple occasions and extended an invitation for a visit to Pakistan.
