Buoyed by recent diplomatic exchanges, the United States is fully committed to elevating its relationship with India, declared Ambassador Sergio Gor. The announcement follows External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar’s productive three-day visit to Washington from February 2 to 4.
Jaishankar engaged with heavyweights Secretary Marco Rubio and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, fostering dialogue on pressing mutual concerns. Gor celebrated these developments online, posting meeting visuals with the caption: ‘Top-tier conversations ongoing. US geared up to advance ties with New Delhi. Infinite potential ahead.’
Central to the visit was Jaishankar’s role in the Critical Minerals Ministerial led by Rubio. He reaffirmed India’s backing for multinational strategies to safeguard critical mineral supplies, essential for tech, renewables, and defense industries.
One-on-one with Rubio, the duo covered an expansive portfolio—trade, energy, nuclear, defense, minerals, and tech. ‘Happy to meet Secretary Rubio. Our discussion spanned bilateral agenda, regional dynamics, and global matters,’ Jaishankar tweeted.
They committed to near-term meetings to drive forward common goals. Jaishankar’s session with Bessent emphasized economic dimensions of the partnership.
‘Glad to connect with Treasury Secretary Bessent in DC. Focused on progressing India-US economic ties and strategic cooperation,’ he added in another update.
These interactions highlight the resilience and depth of India-US bonds, forged through years of strategic convergence. In a multipolar world, such alliances promise enhanced security, innovation, and growth for both powers.
