Lhasa-Shigatse excelled with 7.955 million riders and 4.284 million tons, while Qinghai-Tibet Railway managed 12.25 million+ passengers and 34.5 million+ tons in bidirectional flow. These lines have masterfully supported development and public needs.
Strategic expansions created a robust ‘Y’ framework, elevating transport volumes unprecedentedly. Operational length topped 1,187.8 km by 2021. The 2023 passenger peak of 2.959 million on Qinghai-Tibet set new benchmarks, with 24 tourist services by 2025.
Pioneering stations in the world’s highest rail zones—Yanshiping and Budongquan—benefited thousands of herders. Enhanced festive logistics, student ticketing, and multi-language services underscore commitment to inclusive connectivity, propelling Tibet toward a vibrant future.
