Former President Donald Trump has once again highlighted his controversial tariff policies, claiming they were a powerful tool for preventing and ending global conflicts. In a recent post, Trump stated that his administration successfully managed to “stop 5 of the eight WARS” by leveraging the threat of trade duties. He also emphasized the substantial financial gains for the US, asserting that the nation “taking in TRILLIONS of Dollars in Tariffs and Investment Dollars from foreign lands.”
Trump’s strategy, as he describes it, involved using economic pressure through tariffs to influence the diplomatic landscape and encourage peace. While he has previously alluded to tariffs helping to diffuse India-Pakistan conflicts, India has not publicly confirmed any such mediation.
On another front, reports indicate that Trump has given Ukraine until November 27 to respond to a comprehensive 28-point peace proposal intended to resolve the ongoing war with Russia. This directive follows remarks from Ukrainian President Zelenskyy about the difficult decisions Ukraine faces. Trump reportedly suggested that negotiations showing positive movement could allow for deadline flexibility, but underscored the importance of the set date for moving forward.
