High-level discussions between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former US President Donald Trump are reportedly centered on a new plan for the Gaza Strip that prioritizes a ceasefire and the release of hostages. The plan gives Hamas a definitive choice: release all hostages and agree to the conditions, or face significant repercussions. The proposal demands that Hamas disarm and immediately release all hostages. Following compliance, the United States would take the lead in establishing an international administration in the Gaza Strip. An Israeli official highlighted the deliberate starvation of the hostages as a method of abuse, impacting the hostages themselves and their families. During a visit to Qatar earlier this year, Trump suggested that the US should take control of the Gaza Strip and transform it into a ‘freedom zone’.
