Vladimir Putin says victory ‘assured’ in Ukraine

By India Today Web Desk: Russian President Vladimir Putin mentioned he had “no doubt” Moscow would emerge victorious in Ukraine, regardless of the navy setbacks within the practically year-long offensive, reported information company AFP.
Putin despatched in troops to Ukraine in a pre-dawn assault final February, and introduced a navy mobilisation to prop up Russian forces within the pro-Western nation in September.
Despite a number of navy defeats, victory was “guaranteed, I have no doubt about it”, Vladimir Putin mentioned at the moment. He was addressing employees at a manufacturing unit in Russia’s Saint Petersburg, his native place.

“The unity and solidarity of the Russian people, the courage and heroism of our fighters and, of course, the work of the military-industrial sector” will safe victory, he added.
Putin was in Saint Petersburg to mark the eightieth anniversary of Soviet forces breaking the siege of Leningrad as the town was recognized then.
He defended his targets in Ukraine, the place he had initially despatched troops to “de-Nazify” the nation.
