Yashasvi Jaiswal, India’s exciting young Test opener, has achieved an extraordinary and seldom-seen milestone: playing on 28 different cricket grounds across his first 28 Test matches. This unique record emphasizes his rapid ascent and his impressive capacity to perform consistently regardless of the venue.

From his very first Test at Windsor Park to his latest appearance at Barsapara Stadium, Jaiswal has consistently encountered unfamiliar territories. Each Test match has presented him with a new playing surface, varying climatic conditions, and distinct ground characteristics. The fact that his performances have remained strong suggests a remarkable level of adaptability and mental toughness.

Jaiswal’s entry into Test cricket was spectacular, highlighted by a brilliant 171-run innings against the West Indies. This debut century was a clear indicator of his talent and his readiness to compete at the highest level, quickly establishing him as a key player for India.

His Test career has spanned numerous countries and conditions, including tours of the West Indies, South Africa, Australia, and England, along with extensive play across various Indian venues. The distinct challenges posed by different surfaces – the notorious bounce in South Africa, the swing in England, and the pace in Australia – test even the most experienced players. Jaiswal, however, has demonstrated a commendable ability to adapt his game to suit these varied environments.

A significant highlight of his career so far was his performance during the 2024 home Test series against England. Jaiswal recorded two impressive double centuries in this series, significantly contributing to India’s convincing 4-1 series victory. These innings solidified his reputation as a player capable of converting starts into massive, match-winning totals.

In his 28 Test matches, Jaiswal has scored a total of 2,440 runs, maintaining an average well above 50. He has notched 7 Test centuries and 12 half-centuries, with his highest score being an exceptional 214. His century collection includes one in Australia and two against England in the recent home series.
