Tragedy struck in Ranchi’s Nagdi police station jurisdiction when a young woman, Manisha Tirkey, was shot while traveling on her scooter near the Adchoro railway crossing on Saturday night. The bullet struck her in the back, causing severe injuries. She is currently hospitalized at RIMS in a critical state. Manisha is employed at a pharmaceutical store in Kathal More.
Her brother, Bablu Tirkey, explained that Manisha was heading home with a friend on the scooter and had dropped her friend off. Shortly after, a lone attacker on a motorcycle approached her and fired before fleeing. The family is devastated, especially as Manisha’s wedding was recently arranged in Bartola village, Lodhma. They had just returned from a family engagement when they received the news of the shooting. Police have launched a full-scale investigation into the matter. Rural SP Praveen Pushkar confirmed that the incident involved a shooting and that three individuals on motorcycles are suspected of carrying out the attack. Authorities are working diligently to uncover the motive and bring the culprits to justice.
