    With a planned meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin in Alaska on the horizon, the situation in Ukraine remains tense. Ukrainian President Zelensky has emphasized that any peace negotiations that exclude Ukraine will be unsuccessful. Concurrently, Ukraine has increased its attacks. The Ukrainian military targeted an industrial factory in Saratov, Russia, hundreds of miles from the Ukrainian border. The attack resulted in one fatality and substantial damage to the targeted industrial building. The local governor reported the incident, including that a drone hit a residential building. The attacks are occurring at a sensitive time, with a potential meeting between Trump and Putin aimed at discussing the Ukraine conflict scheduled for August 15th, which might impact the prospects of peace.
