Under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Ramnivas Yadav, a crucial district-level meeting of the NCORD committee took place to solidify strategies against drug trafficking and cultivation. The gathering aimed to create a unified front to combat the scourge of illegal narcotics. Key discussions centered on implementing effective deterrents against smuggling and eradicating drug plantations. All participants received clear mandates to foster robust coordination and build synergistic efforts across departments.

The committee engaged in a comprehensive review of issues pertinent to the drug crisis, including addiction patterns, known areas of drug activity, and the response mechanisms of relevant government agencies. A strong consensus emerged on the necessity of a collective approach to tackle drug misuse and illegal trade. Officials were advised to remain vigilant against drug sales, consumption, and smuggling activities, and to identify individuals involved. A firm directive was issued to take immediate action against opium cultivation, including crop destruction and prosecution of all accountable parties.
The Deputy Commissioner specifically instructed the Drug Inspector to maintain stringent control over the distribution of addictive medicines, emphasizing the mandatory verification of doctor’s prescriptions. The meeting concluded with a clear call for strict punitive measures against unregistered medical practitioners to curb the misuse of pharmaceutical products.
