Reinforcing its ‘zero-tolerance’ approach to terrorism, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has terminated the services of two government employees for alleged links to extremist groups and anti-national activities. The dismissals, sanctioned by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha under Article 311(2)(c) of the Constitution, bypass traditional inquiry procedures when national security is at stake. Ghulam Hussain, a teacher in Reasi, is identified as an Over Ground Worker (OGW) for Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), reportedly involved in recruitment and fundraising for the banned outfit. The second employee, Majid Iqbal Dar, a former Lab Assistant and teacher, is accused of substantial involvement in narco-terrorism, utilizing drug money for terror financing, radicalizing local youth, and potentially aiding in IED plots in Rajouri. Allegations also suggest continued subversive efforts by Dar even while detained. These actions signify a determined effort by the administration to cleanse government ranks and dismantle the infrastructure supporting terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
