The highly anticipated ATP Finals will feature Alexander Zverev once again, as the German star secured his qualification following his advancement to the Vienna semi-finals. His spot in the elite eight was confirmed on Friday, aided by the withdrawal of his potential opponent, Tallon Griekspoor.

This marks Zverev’s eighth career qualification for the year-end championships, and he will be competing at the Inalpi Arena in Turin from November 9th to 16th. He is set to face stiff competition from already qualified players Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, and the world’s top-ranked player, Novak Djokovic.

Zverev’s path to the ATP Finals has been paved with consistent high-level performances. He reached the Australian Open final early in the season, adding another Grand Slam final to his resume. His successful run in Munich secured his 24th ATP Tour title, and he also reached the final in Stuttgart and the semi-finals of Masters 1000 events in Toronto and Cincinnati. These results have kept him firmly in contention in the ATP Live Race To Turin.

His history at the ATP Finals is notable. Zverev holds a 17-10 win-loss record at the tournament and has been particularly strong since its move to Turin in 2021, with a 9-3 record. He is a two-time champion, lifting the trophy in 2018 and 2021, making him one of the select active players with multiple ATP Finals victories. He also reached the semi-finals in 2019 and 2024. The race for the remaining four singles spots is ongoing, with Fritz currently in the prime position to qualify next.
