Tensions ran high in the Haryana Assembly on the budget session’s fourth day, but CM Nayab Singh Saini steered discussions toward progress with news of a groundbreaking transit project. The Regional Rapid Transit System corridor from Iffco Chowk in Gurugram to Faridabad and Noida received final approval.
Amid uproar over 20 opposition questions, accusations flew about house arrests of Congress members. Saini dismissed them outright, clarifying no such actions by police and pointing to the Sector 25 ground in Chandigarh for demonstrations.
The CM elaborated on the pivotal February 24 deliberations, confirming 52 km in Haryana territory. This line will dovetail with Gurugram Metro and incorporate 16 km in Faridabad, heralding efficient regional travel. Comprehensive reports will soon guide the project’s rollout.
Addressing smuggling, Saini revealed a joint secretariat with neighbors, backed by Amit Shah’s vigilance. The Manas portal enables covert operations, complemented by community involvement from saints and khap panchayats against drugs—despite persistent external threats.
In an emotional highlight, Saini granted land rights to Chachrauli inhabitants. This government-owned urban expanse, evolved since 1887 into dense habitation, deserves recognition after generations of residency and ongoing registrations till 2020. Detailed inspections will secure their claims, rejecting technical displacements.
